AgricultureAgriculture has sustained countless generations on these islands and profoundly shaped local culture and traditions. The future of agriculture in our state should be enhanced, strengthened and supported. The safety of our food supply is of vital importance. Agricultural lands must be maintained for the health and economic well being of Hawai’i’s people and the self-sustainability of our state. Water is a limited natural resource that is a public trust and must be managed carefully to insure that it is protected for all of Hawai’i including agriculture.
